Smoking space near a station

This is a smoking space near a station and now smoking on the street is prohibited in some areas of Tokyo. I think the manner of smokers on the street is getting better than before because I find less smokers and cigarette butts on the streets.

We operate the steel arms by the lever and the buttons to get stuffed toys. This is very popular game and I have played it to present it to a girl friend when I was a high school student!

Tiny space for parking

This is a parking space for a house. When we move the upper car, we need to remove the car under the upper first. This is a little bit inconvenient but this is Tokyo!

Tommy Lee Jones in Japan

He is Tommy Lee Jones, a famous American movie actor.

In Japan, he is also famous for an actor for the TV commercial of Suntory's canned coffee, Boss. In the commercial, he acts as a foreigner coming to Japan, puzzled by quite different customs of the strange planet, Japan, just like Bill Murray in the movie of 'Lost in Translation'. (He acted aging movie star and also filmed a Suntory TV spot in the movie.)

Decoration cell phones, aka deco-den

These are decoration cell, called 'deco-den' in Japanese, and very popular especially among young people. The cells are decorated with colorful beads and seem to become a kind of accessory.

This museum, Bridgestone Museum, is one of a few museums which always display the Raoul Dufy's work in Tokyo. Personally I love the lightness and colourful of his works and every time I look at his works, I feel like as if I "saw" the Morzart's music in them.

This chimney used to be higher than any houses around there but now lower than the apartment houses behind.

Most of us in Tokyo used to go to sento, public bath because we had no bath in houses. Now we usually live in a house with bath, so such public baths are less popular. But I personally like the bath since soaking and lounge in the big and hot bathtub after work make me feel very relax!!

Akemashite Omedeto Gozaimasu!!(A happy new year!!)

The decoration, put on both side of the entrance gate, is called Kadomatsu and one of our customs in New Year Holiday. This is for inviting gods to us to protect houses or buildings.
