Peko-chan

This mascot doll, peko-chan, is put in front of a confectionery shop, Fujiya, familiar to people in Japan.

When I was a little boy, my parents used to give me assorted sweets in socks-shaped case. This was Fujiya's one. The doll reminds me of a good memory in Christmas.

I remember shiny boot version of sweets package for kids. That was real treat when I was really little.

Is there a boy version of mascot (poko-chan) still around?

ben: Unfortunately, I have not heard about it. I'm afraid poko-chan does not seem to be around... By the way, when I was a child and eat milky, a kind of candy, I happened to lose a milk tooth once. This is also a good memory of peko-chan.
