Sakura, cherry blossoms, at Yotsuya

Yesterday the Meteorological Agency announced that cherry blossoms had started to open in Tokyo, as well as other cities such as Shizuoka, Kumamoto, Nagoya. And the opening pleasantly shows the coming of spring. We are totally crazy about the blossoms and often go somewhere to see them, often with some drinks. The blossoms have been alive at most for two weeks. Their ephemeral beauty and rather sickly pastel color of light pink. This is why we are fascinated by Sakura. Have a nice Sunday!!

Cherry Blossom time used to be an all day affair in Tokyo with people spreading blankets on the ground and having a kind of picnic with drinking.
