Theme Day, Cemetery / Tombstone

Theme Day, Cemetery / Tombstone
This photo was taken in the middle of Tokyo and well polished tombstones are arranged in a patch of the property of a Buddhist temple, dotting Tokyo. Today such tombstones are surrounded by a tall building in Tokyo. By the way, Tokyo looks modern but has still remained some old customs, for example, visiting our graves once or more in a year to show our respects for our ancestors.

More than 100 City Daily Photo blogs participate in this theme day. Do pay them a visit but remember that due to time difference you might not see the proper photo.

Love the contrast of the cemetery in the midst of the city.

At least they built the city around the cemetery. In my photo I showed where my city turned a cemetery into a park!

I think your photo is great because it shows the respect people have for those who have been buried there.

I'm not sure, if I hadn't seen this photo [or the one on your other site] that I would have realized that this is a grave site.

I like how simple and elegant this is. It is also amazing that it stands right in the middle of the city.
