I did not see ever during my visit that empty subway corridors.
But I can not imagine more beautiful way to subway station and so clean. They were so clean also even they were in Shinjuku light grey marble (?). After the world championship had started, I saw one fag-end on the floor. I was thinking, that some Finn has been here, because a litter has multiplied a lot here.

This was taken about 9 pm. and this is the corridor connecting the station to the other station. The corridor is very vast and there are not so people even during the daytime.

By the way, some subway stations in FInland or Sweden is very artistic and full of artwork, I hear.
