Public Mail Box, a French post in Tokyo, April 1 theme day

A French post in Tokyo
Some districts in Tokyo had used this French post till 10 years ago, though most of people living in Tokyo don't know about it. A importer of French wine also imported French public posts and he installed this post in front of his house.

Now only such a few posts are left and this is one of them.

By the way, if you drop a postcard into the box, postmen are kindly enough to put a little perfume on the card for free.

Oh, today is April Fool's Day! and it is up to you whether or not you believe this story:-))

Many Daily Photo sites are participating in the 1st April theme, "A Public Mail Box", please use the links to below to visit them. Due to time zone differences and other factors, the theme photo may not be displayed until later if you are viewing early in the day.

My luck is holding out; this is my sixth theme day post as first commentator. All the others have been red, though but this one is mellow yellow. Good week-end everyone!!

international april fools are a difficult area -- the British tradition is that if you play your joke after midday then you are the fool!
cheers anyway

I don;t know about the story, Macky.
But nice shot. You tell us this was a "April Fool" thing or not right?

Well done.

Thanks for the comments, everyone!
ben, it is just "April Fool" thing:-) I took the photo at the museum of telecomunication in Tokyo. There are many kind of posts exhibited. Most posts are red, but some are yellow.

Yes, April fools day does put your perfume story into question. My post will be thought of as an April fools joke when in fact it is completely true.

That's a terrifically imaginative story! If it was a Dutch one would they place eau de herring on it? Italian, aroma of espresso? etc....Thanks for livening matters up :-)
