Wikipedia says that Tokyo has eleven sister cities; Beijing in China, Berlin in Germany, Cairo in Egypt, Jakarta in Indonesia, Moscow in Russia, New South Wales in Australia, Paris in France, Rome in Italy, Sao Paulo in Brazil, Seoul in South Korea, and New York in U.S.
It is very hard to pick up only one city from these cities but I choose NY and took the photo of Statue of Liberty at Odaiba, in Tokyo.This statue is presented from France ten years ago as a token of friendship. The monument is not so big as the one in NYC and people cannot go up to the head and only see it from outside.

new south wales isn't a city. its a state... a state which is probably larger then japan. (though not population wise. sydney is the capital of NSW.

Did you know that there is a model of the Statue of Liberty on a small island in the Seine River in Paris?

It is very interesting to read that France has also given this to Japan!
i never knew! man, france is a curious little bugger.

ReplyDeleteI was in Tokyo in 2005 but was there in business, so I only had a few days to look around. I remember that I visited the grave of the Samurai's. But I couldn't understand anything about their life and story as there was no English translation available. Maybe you have pictures from there one day!
